Located near a couple of very busy American air bases This cache will take you to a prime planespotting location quite popular with that set. To find it you've go to know your miitary aircraft or do a bit of research! Enjoy!
Note: The cache is not hidden at the above location. This coordinate is for area location purposes only.
Hidden in a stump on the margin of a field very close to an airbase is a 6 inch circular tupperware container filled with military and aviation goodies. How do I find it you ask? and what the heck is Spy Corner? Well, second one first. Spy corner is a very popular spot for planespotters to gather and observe the aircraft taking off and landing at the base from very close range. It is on private land right at a corner of the base perimeter fence, planespotters have built a scaffold (now gone and replaced with a flatbed trailer) that they can climb up on and peer over the fence to see the planes and take pictures, hence the nickame "Spy Corner" was given to it by the pilots who fly from the base regularly. From the Cache hiding place, the corner is it about 132 degrees for roughly 375 meters. To use the scaffold the landowner kindly asks you pay a pound to help with upkeep.
To find the cache you must become a bit of a plane spotter yourself to decipher the encrypted cache location N52.AB.CDE E000.FG.HIJ Each letter corresponds to a picture of an aircraft posted below. Use the last digit from the type of aircraft pictured to get the appropriate coordinate number. Example: if picture C was an F-15 (which its not) then the coordinate number would be 5. If there is only one number in the plane type, like F-4 or E-3 just use that one number, simple really. All of the pictures came from the internet, and all are also fairly well known types which would appear in any good aircraft book too. If totally lost, Email me for help.
When hiding the cache, try and be inconspicuous to keep the cache from being plundered. Do not attempt to cross the fenceline to go on base! This is illegal and hazardous to your health! There is car parking on roadsides about 150 meters south of the cache or 300 meters southeast.
So good luck, and fly on off and find this cache!
