How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Introductory Map/Compass/GPS Geocaching/Orienteering Course meets Sunday, April 6th between noon and 4pm at the River Bend Farm Visitor Center at the Blackstone River & Canal Heritage State Park, 287 Oak Street, Uxbridge, MA. Special Event cache and meeting space will be inside.

There will be a variety of temporary caches hid throughout the park with opportunity to learn and practice Geo-caching, compass-caching, topo-caching, ortho-caching and social caching with others who enjoy the hunt.

Directions for those that want them:
Use exit 10A from MassPike for route 146 South, take Route 16 East to Uxbridge Center, turn left on Route 122 North, in 1-1/2 mile turn right at next traffic light onto Hartford Avenue, then in one mile turn right on Oak Street. Visitor Center is large red barn.

From Rhode Island, take Route 146 North to second exit in Mass, Route 16 and follow as above (there are visitor center signs at each turn).

From the east for those traveling I-495, use exits 19 (rt 109) or 20 (rt 85) westbound to Route 16 and turn west. Drive through Milford into Mendon and look for Hartford Avenue to turn right, then in four miles turn left onto Oak Street.
