Homework Required Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

dlynch: This cache has been around a LONG LONG time. Had a team notify my they were from out of town and wanted to check some things, I thought I had better make sure it is still around. Good thing I did as the city has been doing a lot of work at the 3rd cache. It is long gone.
Want to thank all that found and those that tried.

Geocache Description:

A Cache by request.

“Homework Required”

Ignore the above coordinates.

I have been asked to place a cache that requires a little more thought. Thanks to Jim Reeb of Denver and some of his caches I put this one together. It is a multi with 3 sites. The third being the one you are looking for. Be sure to take a calculator with you. Note: 4/12/03 I had to move the cache as it was found by a non cacher. NEW FORMULA ADDED.

Where The Three meet.

# 1:  92.77 Miles from "Plaidbeard's Plunder" by Plaidbeard's Crew

# 2:  Traveling from "Ned Houk USA Cache" by av_boy at a speed of 2470.9 Centimeters per Second it would take you 27.072727 Minutes to arrive (As the crow flies)

# 3:  A circle with the area of 2.03786 square legua (Texas) with “Portales Walk Cache as the center. The outside of this circle will “touch” the other two points.

After you figure the Coordinates for the above you may e-mail me for confirmation if you want. (dlynch01@gmail.com)

Now if you did things right you will find a plaque.

Latitude Degrees is N34. You must calculate the Minutes.

Add up all of the printed years. Take this number and divide by 1000 then multiply by (0.4381) this answer is the Latitude’s Minutes. So you now have 34 Degrees XX.XXXX Minutes.

Longitude is W103 Degrees. You must calculate the Minutes.

Now take the number of years (again) and divide by 1000 then multiply by (0.8356) this equals the Longitude’s Minutes. So now you have 103 Degrees YY.YYYY Minutes.

Proceeded to those coordinates.

Again if you did well you will find another plaque.

Latitude Degrees is N34. You must calculate the Minutes.

Add all of the 4 digit years then subtract all of the 2 digit years. Take this number and divide by 1000 then multiply by (0.90455) this is the Latitude’s Minutes. So now you have 34 Degrees XX.XXXX Minutes.

Longitude is W103 Degrees. You must calculate the Minutes.

Add all of the 4 digit years then subtract all of the 2 digit years. Take this number and divide by 1000 then multiply by (1.8921) this is the Longitude’s Minutes. So now you have 103 Degrees YY.YYYY Minutes.

Got IT? Now on to the real cache. A De-Con container. Be sure to log your hunt and/or search. GOOD LUCK!
