Fallen Heroes
Flying around earth, or to the moon
Mars is their goal, but for now,
The Space Station will do.
Their research helps us in so many ways
Medical breakthroughs, new drugs,
New technology -- our GPS too.
Five men and two women, in space just 16 days
So much accomplished, still more to do,
Hug their families and friends not a moment too soon.
Lost on their return home, just a few minutes away.
In the skies over Texas, to our shock and dismay.
We lost seven heroes on a cold, February day.
