Another of the caches placed for the Burke Lake Park geocaching meeting on 15 March 2003. Named in honor of the Waterfowl Refuge that is visible and audible from the cache area. A continuation of the walk around the lake, however this is best approached via the dirt trail that follows the contour of the shore vice the main path.
UPDATE 2/11/23 - The cache is a now a small "Mighty Mega" container which is about 3.5" tall by 2" across. There's not a lot of room, but I managed to squeeze a few small items in. Hopefully this arrangement will keep it going for another 20 years? The area terrain is fairly clear however, I suspect that it may be more difficult as the vegetation grows back in. The dirt trail leading to the area may have a few minor obstacles to overcome, but will be much easier than the bushwacking route. I added the two access points as waypoints rather than listing them here in the description where they had been, but were often overlooked. The cache itself should not be all that difficult to locate, but it is rather small and is covered by leaves and may require some amount of reaching in to feel.
