Geocache Description:

Bob & Genia's first cache.... est. 07/01/2001 The cache is hidden in a clear tupperware type container.

Since the area was grown up and we couldn't find the old cache either we replaced and rehid a new cache on 06/07/03. It contains a variety of goodies. Everyone is welcome to revisit the caches new site. Thanks for visiting the other site.

4/28/09 Adopted from DrLedoux by BasicPoke. I hid a new container in a traditional hiding spot a short distance away from the previous spot. I think you'll know it when you see it. Enjoy.

How to get here: Parking 36°13.273' 95°54.698'. Walk around the gate and follow the well-traveled utility trail east to a trailhead of sorts at 36°13.294' 95°54.363' on your left. You will travel into the woods about 330 ft to a traditional hiding spot. The last 100 ft are a bit rough but you can do it. You can expect to encounter ticks and mosquitos for sure (in season) and of course any other kind of creeping, crawling, wallowing, flying, or slithering pest is possible. Please cover the container before you leave.

New info from TeamScubaSphynx's log 8/8/2021
From the parking coords, go east to the blue gate. Go under the fence (easiest on the right) and walk down the access road for quite a ways. Way past the coords in the description. The "trailhead of sorts" is actually just a mowed section of the field to the left at 36 13.284, 95 54.372. Now turn left and when you enter the woods, head straight(ish) for the cache coords and it will say that you are about 330 feet from the cache. The cache will come into view when you still have 75 feet to go. Sorry, we forgot to screenshot the new coords. But they are about 75 feet south of the posted coords.

This is the oldest geocache in the city of Tulsa, hidden 7/1/2001, and the 6th oldest in the state.

Mohawk Park's gates open at 7 am and close at 9 pm. On weekends, April 1 - October 31, you'll need to bring $2/vehicle to enter Mohawk Park, unless you are a member of Friends of Oxley Nature Center or Zoo Friends. Dogs must be on a leash.
