An island of green amidst the sand and sage, lies this oasis. On Highway 24 along the banks of the Columbia River, one can take a little break, and have some caching fun.
In the sixties, the Vernita Ferry was replaced by the present bridge that crosses the Columbia River here. The rest area was built after the A.E.C. relaxed the security surrounding the Hanford Reservation. Be discrete, there are geo-muggles everywhere ! Cache on, dudes !!
