Geocache Description:

Located in Falmouth Town Forest. This is a great area to use a mountain bike on the old dirt roads leading to the cache!

The cache is in an 8" X 8" X 4" clear Rubbermaid container.

If you head south on Rt. 28, exactly 12 miles south of the Bourne Bridge which goes over the Cape Cod Canal, you will come to the end of the divided section of highway. Go about 1/10 of a mile more after the divided highway ends and look for a set of mailboxes on the right side of Rt. 28. CARS WILL BE TRAVELING FAST behind you so be careful! Across the road from the mailboxes is a very small area where you can park. Don't be afraid, people park there all the time. There is a galvanized metal gate with a sign on it that says "Don't block gate" Park to the right of the gate and walk or mountain bike down the trail.

On the way to the cache, check out the old Tarzan swing located at: 41.34.888 N
070.37.128 W

What a wild ride that would have been !

If you have about an hour or so and want to go for a nice walk or mountain bike ride, you can circle Long Pond and come back to where you started. Just stay on the trails that are closest to the water. Its a little over 3 miles to go around the pond. As you walk along, notice the old farm stone walls and look closely for big granite rocks with the little drill holes in them. These are left from years ago when the granite was used for house foundations. The numerous holes allowed for the splitting of the rock.
