Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden in a wooded area that has lots of brush and thorn bushes. The terrain is relatively flat.

DO NOT CLIMB THE FRONT OF THE BLUFF!!

Start your search from GRANDVIEW CEMETERY.

This cache is named in honor of my grandfather, Robert Hume, and great aunt, Sarah Maxwell. They came to the Midwest on an Orphan Train from New York when they were small children. Robert and Sarah were adopted by families in Fremont County and remained in this area. They are buried in Grandview Cemetery, which you will walk through to find this cache. The location of their grave markers is N 40 44.136 W 95 42.558.

The cache is hidden on private property, which I have permission to do. Please show your appreciation by caching in and trashing out. If you encounter a fence when finding the cache head West and you will find and opening you can walk through. There is a lot of brush so I would recomend wearing jeans.

The cache is in a 4" PVC pipe and wrapped in a black trash bag to help disguise it. The cache contains the following items.

  • Bottle of sand
  • Habitat for Humanity coin
  • Yellow utiity pouch
  • Toy man
  • Key chain with cross
  • Bookmark
  • 3 flashlight key chains
  • Two AA batteries
  • Dollar bill
  • 2 wood pencils
  • Baby rattle
  • Penny with a hole in it
  • Nice ink pen
  • Disposable camera (please leave a picture of yourself)
  • Logbook and pencil
  • Article and poem written by my great aunt (please leave this in the cache)
