This cache has been archived.

Geocaching HQ: This cache has now been archived as requested by IDNR. You have 30 days to seek a permit from IDNR and have your cache approved again by your local reviewer. You can find the new policy, the form to apply for a permit, and the step-by-step instructions on what to do to have your cache unarchived at http://www.in.gov/dnr/7488.htm .

Please be sure to read through the new policy so that we can help to publish your cache again as soon as possible. Your local reviewers and Groundspeak are available to answer any questions. You will find at the bottom of this log the email addresses of the Indiana Reviewers as well as a contact at Groundspeak who are happy to help.

Please know that the Indiana reviewers have done everything in their power to keep as many caches as possible on IDNR lands and to make this transition as smooth as possible. They have worked long and hard with the IDNR to come up with a new policy that will work for most cache owners. We are very sorry for any inconvenience the implementation of this permit process may cause.

Geocache Description:

We've upgraded to an ammo box. Off of Trail #4 in Brown County State Park. A 1/2 to 2 mile round trip depending upon where you park.

Brown County is a wonderfull and peaceful place to go hiking in Central Indiana. The State Park charges a $4 entrance fee for Indiana vehicles so we find it very worth while to buy a yearly pass.

Placed in the cache:
Logbook and Pen
A gold color dollar coin for the first finder
various hair items for girls
a marble
a quarter
bandaids
penny wrappers

The closest parking, 1/2 mile round trip walk over uneven dirt trail, when the campgrounds aren't full is: Rally Campground site #3. Coordinates: N39 09.511 W086 13.999

Official Trail #4 parking, near campground entrance, is one mile round trip over slightly rougher ground. Coordinates: N39 09.426 W086 13.772

Parking for a longer 2 mile round trip over a dirt trail with steep elevation changes can be found at Ogle Lake. Take Trail#7 then branch off onto Trail #4. (A difficulty of 3)
Coordinates: N39 09.640 W086 14.907

You can get a little look at Ogle Lake as you stand over the cache.
