Layton Fishpond - Revisited Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BlueRajah: I am archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please notice that I asked you some time ago to check this cache, and no action was taken. I had hoped that the cache may be replaced, or a note placed that you were going to go check on this cache in the near future.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, please contact me, and assuming it meets the guidelines, I will be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

There are two ways in to this cache, and both are fun, a path from the east and another from the west.

This beautiful pond is way too special to lose its only cache, so here's a new one. In a whole new location, this is possibly one of the neatest spots I've found while caching. Although private property, the land owner graciously allows access for fishing, so respect the area and cache in, trash out and do not trespass to gain access. Unfortunately, there's no swimming or boating, even though it would be a dandy spot for both. Come at night if you want a spooky Blair Witch Hunt type experience. In fact, I dare anyone to circumnavigate the lake at night, especially when there's foliage. I did once, no flashlight--thought I'd never find a way out.

All sorts of goodies are in the ammo box, including some very old flies I tied years ago. If you catch a bass or blue gill on one of those ugly things, be sure to mention it. I also added some nice fishing items too, and since it looks like a great place for a picnic, I brought along a picnic ant--Cachunut #49. (See cachunuts.com)

The original owners of the original cache, Team Phoenix (LarryCot98, Debbie, Andi and Amber), asked me to adopt the cache when they left Utah to move to Egypt. Larry still checks occasionally to see how it's doing. To see who visited the original cache, check their logs at GC1864. Have fun everybody.
