Geocache Description:

This is one (if not the) first cache to be placed in Coyote Hills. Find the cache and you will also find an amazing natural stone seat to watch all the wildlife and wonderful views around you! If you find something wrong with the cache, please log the visit so I'll know when things need fixing up! Iy's an old fashion large cache with some goodies inside. So if you take something, leave something. No log book this time however

There are several different ways to reach this cache. Some take you up to a very nice view of the bay where you can see Redwood City, Foster City, San Francisco and Oakland! The out and back trip is only about a mile. Keep an eye out for poison oak growing around the rocks, although as of yet I have never seen any!

I am revising this description because the people wanting to develop the land near Coyote Hills finally got some of what they were after, which was the ability to build even more high density housing near the Hills. But not all!! Thanks to all those who fought against the Patterson’s and the developers who were at first going to be able to build on the west side of Union City Blvd.
There is a $5 fee to get into the park. The parking lot is right next to a great picnic area, so bring the whole family! One thing that always bothers me a little bit when I go to the park is seeing all the cars parked outside the park. These folks park there to avoid paying the reasonable entrance fees, thus they enjoy what the park offers but do not help out monetarily. All of our CA parks are running on a thin edge financially, so for goodness sakes pay to get in! There are boardwalk trails that go right through a near marsh there, as well as several dirt trails going around the hills. It's also next to a paved bike trail that will take you to the mouth of Alameda Creek and Niles Canyon- about a 6 1/2 mile trip one way. Please take a look around when you start getting a view. This is one of the last standing open spaces left in Fremont. Take your time and just sit up on some rocks and take it all in. You'll likely see several different species of hawks, lots of lizards, and even remote controlled gliders in the air. Bring a light jacket with you because even in the summer the wind can get chilly in those hills!
