Geocache Description:

The cache is a standard ammo can. You should get a little exercise on this one depending on your condition and on the trail you take. The cache is protected by a sleeping Giant. Be sure not to wake him.

For the 1st week this WAS a Subscriber - Only Cache.

Not the highest mountain in the area but has a view of Rancho Bernardo, Del Mar, Lake Hodges, Bernardo Mt., Battle Mt., and Mt. Woodson. On a clear day you can actually see the Ocean.

You could Picnic on the big flat rock in this area near the cache or go South on the trail to the Summit. You should be able to see the flagpole from the trail. If you go that direction be sure to sign the Summit log attached to the flagpole. There may be another cache South of the Summit.

In the evening you may see some Hot Air Balloons coming towards you from Del Mar.

The trailhead we used was SE of the cache. Accessible via a utility access road (see hint). I think this trail provides the best views. There is another trailhead South of the cache.

When I had the Shutterbug Cache I hid it just 15' North of one of these trail heads. If you can figure out where I hid the Shutterbug cache, when I had it, you will find the SE trail. If you find another trail please let us know.

The trails are narrow near the cache but require no bushwhacking. You may have to step over some low brush when you are very close to the cache. Long pants suggested. Water Recommended.

We tried to put some nice goodies in this cache. We used a gift card we nabbed from a Rocket Man cache to purchase some of the item for this cache. We were also lucky enough to grab the last Official Geocaching sticker for the outside of the can, from a Jaxxom cache, while waiting for ours to arrive. So my thanks to Rocket Man and Jaxxom.

Hope you enjoy our first cache and the views from this site.
