Location: On Top of Battle Mountain (in Hot Springs, South Dakota). This Mountain was used by Indians as a lookout and this is where they came to use the flint rock to create their ArrowHeads.
Cache: Container is a Rubbermaid container and has the following inside.. A Notebook (logbook), Pencil, Ferrari Hot Wheel, Temporary Tattoos, South Dakota Key Chain and a Purple Flint Rock (the same kind that the indians used to create the arrowheads). Please DO NOT take the Flint Rock, please leave it for other GeoCachers to see.
Terrain: You will definately either want to take a Four-Wheel Drive or a vehicle with a good ground clearance. If you are in a car you can park at the bottom and hike up (it is about 1.5 miles to the top). You will have to hike if it is wet.
Notes: As in any rocky area in South Dakota, be careful of snakes. Also, watch out for Poison Ivy.
We placed this cache while on vacation visiting family. This is our First one and we hope you enjoy it!!
