Alligator isthmus is a cache placed on a vacant wooded strip of land in between the Geneva lakes. You will need a boat and a machete. Be prepared for muddy ground and thick blackberry bushes.
Alligator Isthmus is much harder to get to than my first cache(The New Park Cache). The map shows this area as an island, but the water has gone down so much that two sides are connected to land. You could get their by foot, but you would be walking through people's yards and they probably wouldn't like it. You'll have to put a boat in at a ramp on the lake, then get it to the following location. [29° 46.078N by 082° 01.667W]. Park the boat here and follow the trails that have been made by people's ATVs. If your not careful, you might get lost, it's a fairly big piece of land.
Now you should try to move toward the cache location. It is on the border between a tree-ish area and a large patch of blackberries. Don't go through the black berries, they are way too thorny. To make things easier, you might want to use the entrance point I have designated in the hint box. It takes you into an open area near the cache.
When you're in the general area, you will see turtle remains pointing to the tree that holds the cache. Once you've found it, you can look around the rest of the forest. There are some nice areas for picnics and stuff.
P.S. watch out for bee hives, snakes, and maybe alligators.
