Geocache Description:

An easy circular walk with a pub thrown in.

The cache has been relocated yet again! Hopefully it might last a bit longer. We have nearly taken it into protective custody. Don't worry about the proximity of nearby buildings, we won't bite. If you see (or hear!) Brook the smelly caching dog, say hello.

Note the new position & ratings.

An easy mile or so walk with a pub on route. Park at N53 31.287, W001 28.255. This is as near as you can get with the car. The way to the cache is via a footpath down a private road (no vehicles but fine on foot). When you find the cache, continue along the footpath to N53 31.144, W001 28.471 & reward yourself with a pint (or two). If you fancy a longer walk, then park at N53 31.516 W001 28.281 & have a look around the country park. Maybe attempt Geoffreybubblesbonbons' "DeciCache" or our "Seasons Gruntings"
The cache is on the site of the old Barrow colliery, this has now been restored & now forms part of the South Yorkshire community forest. After you find the cache, the area itself is well worth a look as it is teeming with wildlife. Ponds support moorhens, ducks, geese etc. Whilst the birdlife is a magnet to bird watchers. We have also seen foxes & badgers out during the daytime. Enjoy!
Please ensure that the cache is well concealed when you leave. Thanks
The cache is VERY close to a house. Please don't worry about trespassing, the owners don't bite!
