Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. It is a medium length trail which loops around on itself so there is no need to backtrack after you find the cache. There is also no reason to leave the main trail. There are lots of twists and turns in the trail but it will eventually lead you to the cache if you follow it.

The cache is named for my dog Sunny's favorite spot to go and play. The trail is behind this location. Bring your furry friend along and let them have some fun after you've finished your hunt. Parking coordinates are N33 39.638 W078 56.225. The trailhead is at N33 39.615 W078 56.201. This trail is primarily used for mountain biking so be aware of bikes that may come swooshing by. You will be looking for an ammo can that has been painted brown to match the surrounding terrain.

Despite recent road construction the trail head is still quite easy to get to.

Part of the fun of this cache is that your GPS will make you think you have to go in all different directions. If you stick to the main trail your GPS will finally zero out within about 5ft of the cache. There is absolutely no need to leave the trail other than about 5 feet at the FINAL location. I understand that sometimes people want to try and make shortcuts but this harms the environment and could eventually lead to this trail being closed completely. Let's all try to do what we can to protect the environments we play in and use the designated trails.

The trail is quite clearly marked and there is no need to bushwhack your own trail, as many have already done. This could possibly lead to the town closing this trail completely due to abuse. If you stay on the trail itself you will find that it is the shortest way to get to the cache.

When you are finished please be sure and place the cache back where it was found and assure that it can't be seen. The cache should not be left out in the open where it can be seen! If you find it that way please place it back in the spot stated in the hint. Thanks.

Another thing I would like people to note is that tick season is quickly approaching. Please take precautions and use sprays and check yourself thoroughly after leaving the cache. Unfortunately in this area ticks are just a part of life but if we take the proper precautions problems with them can be avoided.
Thanks and I hope everyone continues to have fun with this cache!
