Geocache Description:

A bit of snooping around the CIA (no, not that CIA), will satisfy your hunger for both geocaching and culinary delights.

In the town of St. Helena, Calfornia there is a branch of the CIA that is open to the public. It's not the 'Central Intelligence Agency' but rather the 'Culinary Institute of America' and it's located in the hundred year old building that once housed the Christian Brothers Winery on 30 beautiful acres in the Napa Valley.

At this great spot you can dine at the Wine Spectator Restaurant, take in a cooking demonstration and shop in a store dedicated to food and its preparation. But the main focus of the CIA is on training people to be chefs! Lots of information is available on their website.

To find this cache, visit the historic Greystone building during public opening hours (check the website) and find the original cornerstone for the building which is displayed inside the building. The cornerstone was laid in 1888 and the location was not marked or commemorated. Workers maintaining the building uncovered it in 1982 and placed on display inside the building to preserve it.

To log this cache, find the cornerstone, read the nearby plaque and email me with the number of bottles of wine that were originally put into the cornerstone. For extra credit: how many bottles were broken during the restoration.

Have fun on this one and enjoy the Napa Valley!
