Geocache Description:

Dirt Trail from the parking lot is part of the Mid State Trail, the last section off of the trail is steep and may be overgrown in the summer.

The cache is named the rainy day cache simply because it was a rainy day when we placed it. The sloped terrain can be slippery when wet, so watch your step. This is our first cache so suggestions are welcome.

The cache is in a green ammo bucket hidden amongst some rocks. The cache contains a number of small trinkets (hope to add to the collection soon). It is located in the area between Redemption Rock and Crow hill. The section of the Mid State Trial between the two would make a nice day hike and Redemption Rock or Crow hill would make a nice picnic spot. The best place to park is one of the dirt parking lots off of Rt 31.

Well we went back to check on the cache this past weekend, 8/22/04 and were amazed at the path that has been worn to it. We were thinking perhaps its time to build a new cache. Perhaps we will put the coordinates in this cache so you have to find one to get the second one. That could be fun. We havnt done it yet though, Ill change this info if we actually get around to it. What do you guys say, good idea? Obviously we will have to make it a little harder to find than this one.

Hey just a warning to people, the vine hanging out of the tree that looks like it would be a lot of fun to swing on... well it is, but you probably shouldnt do it. We were swinging on it this weekend and after a number of good swings very high off the ground it started to pull out of the tree a bit. So if you swing on it it may just let go and that would be a nast fall.

Oh and for all you people who "Bushwacked all the way there" Excelent job, you guys are hardcore!!!
