This cache was a Spontaneous cache placement for us. I‘ve had a micro cache riding around in the back of the cache hunting mobile for a couple months just begging to be put out. So I decided to see if we could find a good spot for it while I took Cooper for walk in the nature trail area.
Short hike to the cache area from the road and sidewalk that goes around the mountain. There are many trailheads to choose from the closest would be the entrance to the nature trail area at 48.288/09.539
Once in the area you will be looking for an Altoids can painted black Hidden in the area of “The Rotten Log”. It is not necessary to climb on the log or dig around the area. The cache is hidden but not covered up, just obscured from view.
If you do not already have a yearly park pass, it costs $7 (per vehicle) a day to get in the park. Yearly Park passes can be purchased at the gate for $30 (per vehicle) and allow unlimited visits during the one year period. However there are a number of other reagular caches and virtual caches to be found in the park.
