Geocache Description:

This is a virtual cache located in the middle of no where. Your caching skills as well as your research skills will come into play on this one.

As is often the case, I stumble upon some amazing and interesting things while Caching. This particular cache I found by accident while looking for a place to hide a traditional cache. As I drove by it, I did a double take and immediately thought: Hmmmmm. So I did a return-to-target and headed back to this unusual and out of the way monument. I figured, what the heck, if I can't find a suitable spot in this area to hide a traditional cache, this virtual one will just have to do.

To get credit for this cache, you'll have to Email me the answers to a couple of questions who's answers can be found at the cache site, and one question that you'll have to do some research for. I threw this little research twist in there because I know how much Dustoff8 and Dustoff YaYa enjoy research projects that deal with virtual caches like this one.

Ok, so here are the questions:

1) For what ship was the four-ton cable for?
2) How far did the men have to carry it?
3) Who was in charge of this party of men?

This is a great cache for local history buffs. I know I learned a lot about what happened around these parts while doing my 'research' for the third question. You'll actually have to do a little digging to find the answer to number 3, but it's out there... in cyberspace somewehre.

Please wait for confirmation before posting your find. I check my mail daily so you shouldn't have to wait long for a reply. Postings before confirmation will be deleted.
