Geocache Description:

Spencer County Memorial Forest, east of Fulda, Indiana. God's Country number 3

This little park contains a memorial to the 66 men from Spencer County who died in WWII. That's right 66 men from this one little rural county. It wasn't any more or less than other counties all over the US, but so many men, so many families paid such a price.....

The memorial is a round tower-like structure with the names on a plaque inside. The seldom used park is on a serene wooded hilltop.

Listen closely to the breeze throught the trees. You will hear the sounds of 50 years of family reunions. Imagine old men with old stories. Imagine farm wives sitting out their best covered dishes. Imagine strong men playing a lively game of horseshoes. Imagine children running and playing. Imagine generations of young lovers parked in secluded corners on dark nights. This is a place to be alone with your own memories.
