Geocache Description:

Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Dogbone hid some stuff.

You may hike, or you may bike, it shouldn't be too ruff.

Of course to find, what's left behind, would be a great sensation.

To begin, you must first check in at the ranger station.

Terrain rating: 2, Even little dogs could make this one
Overall difficulty: 2, When ya get there, bark like a mad dog

Admin Note: This is in Collier-Seminole State Park and there is a fee to enter. The trail is open between 8-5 DST and 8-4 STD time. Check in at the ranger station before attempting the cache. The ranger station is south east of the cache site along highway 41 at the entrance to the actual park at N25.59.516 W81.35.408. Please, use the mountain biking trail to approach the cache at N25.59.917 W81.35.918. The trail can be wet at times and the mosquitoes can be brutal certain times of the year. The hike is around 3 miles round trip, and the final container is about 100 feet off the trail. You cannot access this cache without trespassing on private property unless you use the designated trail. Please do not endanger the future of Florida's oldest cache by disregarding this critical rule.

The owner of this cache is long gone and anidanid tirelessly took care of this cache after she adopted it in 2004. Then in 2013 she gave Lorriebird a most excellent birthday present and allowed her to adopt it!

Owners Note December 25th 2020: Happy 20th Birthday, Christmas Cache! The oldest cache in Florida turned 20 years old today! This milestone birthday was celebrated with an event, a cake, and then a hike. Here's to the next 20 years!
