Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are not correct, please read on.

Travel the Sixteen Mile Creek from the urban mouth at Lake Ontario to the peaceful natural valley of the headwaters.  A thousand years of history is documented on kiosks outlining the natural, physical and cultural heritage of the area.  Start in the old downtown of Oakville surrounded by historical buildings and shops, then travel through the city keeping an eye out for the tell tale kiosks (and the clues) that you'll  need for the final leg of the hunt.  Be sure to pack a picnic lunch" hint, hint".

Somewhere on each kiosk is the answer to the corresponding questions below.  You need to find the correct answer from each one in order to solve the final math problem to the trading cache.

I knew about the heritage trail system in Oakville because I would occasionally run into the kiosks here and there on my hikes.  It never actually dawned on me that they were all connected until one day I came across a map showing the various locations of each kiosk (I've included it on this page).  Hope you have as much fun solving this cache as I did making it.

The kiosks can be quite a long way apart so you will require some form a transportation (motorized or peddle power) to get to them all in a half day or so. Make sure you wear your hiking shoes because the final leg is a a bit of a hike.  This is where the actual trading cache is stashed.

Since the cache isn't in Lake Ontario, as the original coordinates suggest, you have do some simple math to get the final and correct coordinates.  Use your answers from the kiosks and the formulas below to calculate the final coordinates. When calculating the answers, you need to ignore the decimal and then later replace it to make a proper coordinate.
Formula Answer
The correct Northerly = N 43o 26.500’ + D N
The correct Westerly = W 079o 38.005’ + A + B + C + E + F + G + H + I W

Please remember to replace the cache in the exact same place you found it as it could possibly be seen from the trail if placed in a similar but different location.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.
