Located off one of the trails in the youth camping area of West Hills Park.
West Hills Park is located in the NW corner of Suffolk County. The park covers many acres but has no real defined entrance. This cache is located off the Red Dot trail by the Youth Camping area.
Our Cub pack frequents this campground. As part of learning geocaching, this cache was placed so that there are now at least two caches available for groups using the area. It makes any easy two-fer for anyone searching this section of the park.
The container is clear with a blue top.
The Scouts donated several trinkets from their learning experience to start this cache. In addition I added several items (pocket calculator, pocket flashlight, lucky Montauk St. Pat's beads) to the booty.
The Scouts are looking forward to seeing how the trades go and reading what you write in the log. Please re-hide carefully so it is not visible from the trail.
NB - Many people are starting to use their initials in cache titles. The initials above are not mine, but a tribute to my brother who was one of the innocent World Trade Center victims from 9/11. Because of his love of the outdoors I've decided to use his initials on all of my caches. I've also decided to include an American Flag pin as one of the trade items in all of my caches.
