Geocache Description:

Located in Thomas Park, just off N. 9th Street in Salina.

The container is an OD green plastic tube with a screw on lid. The container is about 4" in diameter and about 2.5 feet long. The contents include 7 woodies, a log book, a pencil and a welcome sheet. Wildlife you are likely to encounter include all sorts of birds, deer, and a large group of turkeys. It is best to park in the west end of the park. Some odd bugs have been known to frequent this area, so bring your own protection. The coordinates were taken in the trees, so they may be a little off. A second set of coordinates were taken about 60 feet east from the cache and outside the trees. I thought it should be a two for difficulty, Chase tells me it has to be at least a four, so we compromised. You will find several large holes near the cache, that is where the city has used a tree spade to harvest trees for the local parks. Have fun and good luck.

Note: I checked the cache on September 22, 2003 as it had not been hit for awhile. It survived the summer and all the kid traffic!
