Geocache Description:

This is a beautiful area to hike in, even after the fires of October 2003. Even on weekends you won't see too many people, so it's a great hike to help you take a break from civilization. We have seen bobcats, coyotes, and rattlesnakes in the area.

This is a fairly easy hike, but allow plenty of time, as it is over 4 miles each way. Wear a hat/sunscreen and bring plenty of water. There are several stretches with little or no shade.

If you haven't done any of the other caches in Happy Camp, we recommend making a day out of it and doing the whole loop. The other caches are:

Bear, Deer and Fox Memorial Cache (GCH5RH)
Happy Camp, Still (GCH5C5)
Happy Campin' Baby (GCFD10)

The loop is 10 to 11 miles depending on where you park. The 2 parking options are:

1. Drive north from Moorpark on Old Hwy 23 (Walnut Canyon Rd). Turn right onto Broadway, located where Hwy 23 makes a hard left. Go straight into the parking area. This parking area will make the loop about ยพ mile shorter.
2. Exit Hwy 118 at Princeton and go north. Turn left onto Campus Park Dr. and continue until you get to the golf course parking area. Parking in the dirt outside of the golf course is permitted, and is in fact recommended if you think you may be later than the golf course hours.

Accessible to hikers, mountain bikes (lots of sandy areas!) and horses. Dogs are not permitted.
