This is a walkway into the Waimakariri Valley. If you are coming from Christchurch turn left into a parking area directly before the Bealey Bridge. If coming from the West Coast, pass Klondyke's Corner, cross the bridge and turn right into the parking area as you come off the bridge. Be careful turning into the parking area. If there is too much traffic for you to make a safe turn there is off-road parking as you come off the bridge on the Christchurch side.
To get to the cache you will need to walk about 350 metres West from the parking area. This is less than a 10 minute walk on an undulating well-formed track above the side of the river.
When you come to a sharp left hand turn in the track leading uphill (marked by an orange triangle), take the lesser right hand track instead. Do not go straight ahead or you will end up in the creek!
The cache is about 25 metres down this track, almost directly opposite the waterfall, beside a very small, pointy, moss-covered tree stump on the edge of the track. There is a lovely mossy area under the trees all around you at this point.
You can walk out to the bluff - 40m due West of the cache site - to get a view of the river and beyond (or to get satellite coverage) BUT be very careful as the path drops steeply to the river.
The cache is a 100ml clearly labelled screw top container.
The cache should contain:
Logbook, pencils and sharpener
