Long drive, but well worth it. Up to 117 miles round trip. 50 miles of WELL maintained gravel and dirt road.
I started from Lake Mead Blvd and Rainbow in NW Las Vegas.
Take 95 north for approximatly 20 miles. Past Snow Mountain exit, to a small sign that says "Corn Creek Rd. Turn right onto gravel road. Drive till you come to the posted fork, and take the right one on Mormon Well Rd.
This takes you some of the most amazing desert landscape that you will see in Southern Nevada. From scrub grass to yucca forests to Joshua trees to pinion pines and meadows.
Take plenty of water and food. This is SOLITUDE. I saw NO ONE on the entire gravel road portion.
I was glad (as always) to have my Jeep Wrangler, but the road is well maintained, and with a little caution and a touch of common sense, you can get there with your Honda Civic.
When you reach the cache, you can turn around and head back, but a much better idea is to keep going until you reach Hiway 93 and then head back to Vegas. Much longer, but well worth the trip.
From the other side: Take I15 to North 93. Take 93 for 24 miles to the coordinates N36 46.049 W 114 56.475. Turn left on small unmarked gravel road.
If you're just looking for a cache, this may not be for you. But if you want a small ADVENTURE, then lets get rollin'!!!
