Poutní kostel sv. Jana Nepomuckého na Zelené hore predstavuje vyvrcholení tvorby geniálního architekta Jana Blažeje Santiniho Aichla, príslušníka již tretí generace italské umelecké rodiny, usazené od 17. století v Praze. Kostel k uctení památky nového ceského svetce, Jana z Nepomuku, nechal vybudovat Václav Vejmluva, který byl v letech 1705-1738 opatem zdejšího cisterciáckého kláštera.

The shrine of St. John of Nepomuk on Zelena hora is considered the highest achievement of a brilliant architect, John Blazej Santini Aichl, a third generation member of an Italian artists family settled in Prague in the 17th century. The shrine, dedicated to a new Czech saint - John, John, of Nepomuk, was built by Vaclav Vejmluva, abbot of the local Cistercian Abbey from 1705 till 1738.
