Geocache Description:

A micro cache that is just a stone's throw from downtown Anchorage.

At one time, this was a virtual cache because the original cache came up missing. Well, it appears the original cache is still there. So, cache on and I hope you enjoy this micro cache.

During the summer salmon runs, you'll be seeing combat fishing at it's best on your way to this cache. Two salmon derbys take place along this stretch of muddy streambank - one for Kings and another for Silvers. And if you are a lover of trains, the Alaska Railroad is very active in the area. You might also get lucky enough to see a pod of beluga whales. And many different birds can be watched from here. There are also some terrific views of the city that can be seen from this vantage point as well as the surrounding mountains.

If you can successfully negotiate the maze of railroad track crossings, thread your way along the winding road and avoid the flying salmon hooks, you'll end up at the site of this cache.

Please - for your own safety - do not cut across the railroad yard or railroad tracks and stay off of private property. Public access to this area is available by driving or walking the road.

The cache is a micro cache. Locate the anchor and you're just about there.

Enjoy!
