Adkins Crossing Traditional Cache

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Adkins Crossing to find out about the status of this cache on May 31, 2008. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Geocache Description:

Located in the treeline around the park out through the brush.

This was the homestead in 1886 in the Chickasaw Nation of a family named Adkins. It was close to this site that at noon on April 22, 1889, hundreds of settlers crossed the South Canadian river into the unassigned lands of Oklahoma Territory. This is a small park with some tables and playground equipment for the kids. It has a large open space that Fido would love. Could be a great place for a picnic!! Sorry my first coordinates for the west were miss input, THE COORDINATES HAVE BEEN CORRECTED AS OF APRIL 25TH 10PM. The container is a camo folgers plastic coffee can, replaced as of 4Jan04 due to theft.Please rehide and cover as it is easy to see until springtime.The North coordinate varies from .535 to .531 (a magellan and an Etrex).
