A straightforward cache accessible to 2WDs. The rating of 1.5* for terrain includes a short scramble up a hill to the cache.
The following extract is taken from the log of Scarinian. Lord Jimbo had advised me well. This is indeed an excellent place to ambush the Frognoughts as they withdrew to the hills for the night. But at that very moment a Geeline from Zenda spotted me. These huge, huge beast are so tall they cause a local solar eclipse and then crashing down came his sword. Using the Enchanted Sword of Scalim I parried the blow that went on to cleave its way through the mountainside. (Scarinian archivist’s note: the sword blow caused the cut you see today). I ducked and weaved finding a hiding place and waited for the mighty beast to leave. I then decided to hide the Scared Food Container of Riyadh just in case I lost in the forthcoming battle with the Frognoughts. I recalled the words of the Widow Hag of Kingdom “Do not conceal the cache too close to the cut lest those that follow you climb the wrong side”. Wise words indeed and so I sought a cache some way from the cut to ensure that baggers did indeed climb the correct side. I chose this side because in years to come the other looked right for development into a walk so typical of this land. Moreover this site is already popular so I did not choose the most obvious location but one that would be difficult to reference from the bottom lest non-baggers should follow others to see what they are about. Finally I chose site that would not be accidentally stumbled on by children playing on the mound because if they are not here yet they will surely come. So standing atop of the mound I dropped only about two feet and found a natural hole under a rock shelf in which to hide the Container. I drew the Enchanted Sword of Scalim and concealed myself above the new cut to await dark... and the Frognoughts.
The site is a deep cut through a hill to permit what I expect will be a neighbourhood road based on a grid. An extraordinary site in two respects. Firstly if you wish to see a vertical cross section of the Saudi geology then this is the place to come. There are ample of quartz veins to see and indeed great lumps of quartz crystals lie where they have been scythed out of the hill by the bulldozers. The second is why do it at all. The great cleave through the hill is only a hundred metres from where the hill takes a sharp drop to ground level and yes there is already a road around the end. We discovered this location on the last trip of Lord Jimbo and it was a lot cleaner then than it is now. The building site look is inevitable as the area transforms itself from a wadi into a des neighbourhood.
