Heber C. Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BlueRajah: I am archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please notice that I asked you some time ago to check this cache, and no action was taken. I had hoped that the cache may be replaced, or a note placed that you were going to go check on this cache in the near future.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the next three months please contact me, and assuming it meets the guidelines, I will be happy to unarchive it.
Thank you,

Geocache Description:

Step back 150 years...

Heber C. Kimball built a grist mill on this site in 1853. The creek which flows nearby is named Mill Creek, but back in pioneer days it was referred to as "Kimball Creek". A large mill and pond existed here for many years. There are several interesting plaques to read and monuments to see. Best of all, the ruins of the old mill and the original millstones are still present near the cache.

There is no parking on Orchard Drive. Park around the corner on Mill Street or at BHS (obey parking regs), then walk a short distance to the cache site. The tree cover may throw your GPS off a bit. Read carefully and think about it. The cache is a small container that is well hidden. There is barely enough room inside for the log book, so bring your own pen/pencil. Look in a tight corner. Please replace the cache container carefully--just as you found it.

Litter is a real problem in this area. Bring a CITO bag and gloves. Others will appreciate your efforts! Enjoy your visit and good luck with your hunt!
