This is a four-part multi cache, which will take you on a tour of some of Cherokee County’s history and points of interest. Be prepared for a short steep hike and some climbing around on large rocks. There is now an entry fee of $5 at the final stage.
The cache is in a green ammo box (re-hidden 10/13/03). The first cache placed in this area was stolen. The new location is more remote with rougher terrain, which will hopefully discourage would be cache thieves. WE STILL STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF RE-COVERING THE CACHE WITH LEAVES AND BRUSH BEFORE LEAVING.
Part one: Stop here to obtain the info to do a little math. Use the answers to decode the coordinates (coordinates were averaged). Add 3018 to the sum of Gen. Forrest and Col. Streight’s men.

Part two: Subtract the total number of years this facility was in operation from 874. Then add the number of tons that were produced daily to decode the coordinates (coordinates were averaged).

Part three: This little bit of history was once badly neglected, but has seen some recent cleanup. The man in this grave invented something. Look around in the park to find out what. Add the number of letters in the name of this man’s invention (one word) to 661 to decode the final coordinates (coordinates were averaged). When leaving part three, be sure to take a right and keep an eye out for an almost extinct place of recreation.

Part four: The final leg of your journey! Effective Jan 1, 2015 The daily entry fee is $5 per day. Please don't let that discourage you; it's worth it. It will require some walking and climbing to locate the cache. Cache Thieves took off with the first cache. The original coordinates N34 10.793 W085 49.076 will take you to a great view, if you care to stop by on the way to the new cache location. Please take time to explore this area. On a clear day you can see as far as Rome, GA and Gadsden, AL.
