The elevation here is about 4500 feet. This cache was adopted in 2012 by local geocache team Leenah. Originally it was located in the pasture just below the gated road that leads further up the mountain, with a warning to look out for "Kaloko (cow) Pies." It was later relocated to its present spot after concerns came up about crossing onto private property.
You do NOT have the cross over any fence or wall to get to the cache and you needn't worry about stepping in cow pies.
Due to overcast conditions that often prevail at this location, you may have difficulty maintaining a signal. Don't be ashamed to resort to the hint. And please do not be tempted to relocate the container to a "better" site you think more closely matches the coordinates. (the signals are not always reliable and it makes it really difficult for the maintainer to find the cache if someone has moved it to a mystery spot!).
The container is a square tupperware. Please return it the same location you found it with the same degree of camo as possible. It is one of Kona's oldest caches and we hope to keep it going as long as possible.
