We have always enjoyed the distraction of a cache while traveling Interstate 5.
We thought is was time to hide one ourselves.
What better place than the rest stop in our area?
Welcome to Corning, California. Olive Capitol of the World, and our hometown.
Look around and you will see thousands of olive trees and olive pits, thus the PIT in this pit stop. You can even enter the "olive pit spitting contest" during Corning's "Olive Festival" every August. Also, "The Olive Pit" just off I-5 has free olive tasting and good food!
This is an easy distraction for those who need to stop, stretch, use the facilities, and find a quick cache.
The cache used to be an ammo can, then a small plastic container that was eaten by 'rodents of unusual size', then a metal first aid container, now a de-con container.
The trees have interesting trunks, and the orchard can be "Blair-Witchy" at night.
PLEASE hide this container well, and be discreet.
