This cache has been archived.

Chris&MaryB: Realistically, I'm never going to get round to maintaining this properly, so I'm going to archive it. Thanks to everyone who's shown an interest.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a black-painted ammo box hidden within Park Lime Pits, a local nature reserve and park created from former limestone workings in Rushall, a village about 2 miles north of Walsall, West Midlands.

The park mostly consists of wooded areas, and some pools which are the old mine workings. Local legend has it that the pools here are joined to the nearby Walsall Arboretum by the mines. There's lots of ways to approach the cache, with varying terrain. The easiest route is mostly along well-surfaced pathways without any serious slopes, but other routes may include steps or steep slopes. The park is well worth some exploration, and is one of those places that only local people seem to know about.

If anyone's feeling adventurous, this cache lies close to the Beacon Way, which means you could walk to 'Great Scott' too, but we'll leave that up to you. There's another cache in the park fairly nearby.

Parking is nearby at 52 35.972 001 57.187- Approach from Park Road, and pass the Manor Arms Pub. Note the closing times on the barrier just beyond the pub car park- don't get locked in.
