Geocache Description:

Albion's first geocache....because I got there first!

This is a traditional cache hoping to inspire people to go to the boomin metropolis of Albion - home of some of my kin. The best things I have found so far in Albion are two restaurants - one casual family type place called The Village House and the other a more formal dinner called Tillman's Village Inn (Est. 1824). The Village House is just up the street from the cache towards the village. Also up the street from the cache is a nice playground for the kids equipped with a skate park. The Village Inn is across the intersection of Route 98 and 104. Other great things to do in Albion are to take the kids for a train ride through Watts Orchards - a place on Route 98, north of Albion - see link at (visit link) . Brown's Berry Patch has THE BEST WAFFLE CONES I have EVER had - all homemade including ice cream. Brown's Berry Patch is up on Route 18, about 10 minutes north of Albion. As you drive North out of Albion, at the Y on 98 you go to the LEFT...continue on 18, and you will see Browns on the left as you come around a curve. It is a large, barn-like store, with homemade ice cream (from Andersons, made from their own fruit), pies, and much more.One last item is, if you're leaving Albion via Route 104 East (Ridge Road), stop at Ridge Road Station - a must for kids and train enthusiasts. Albion is the home of the Albion Prison and has many historical places to visit. Coordinates were updated on November 2, 2003 to get you closer to the cache.
