This cache is replacing the Otay Lakes Park cache by Tom Linda. May be a $2.00 parking fee. Park in Otay Lakes Park nearest to the dam. The trail starts adjacent to the parking. Use the trail, not the road to the dam with a locked gate. The trail heads up a little trail and the cache is located off the trail with minimal bushwaking involved. There are some sensitive plants nearby, so be careful where you step. Beware of snakes. Great photo ops at or near the cache site.
THIS OLD THING is an OLD beat up ammo can. When we saw this at the OLD army surplus store, we had to have it. It is white with a piece of OLD masking tape down one side. We wrote the cache name and geocaching.com on the top and sides of it. There are OLD rust spots that help create the OLD look. The idea of this cache has been in our heads for quite awhile. Before we were OLD, when we were kids, my family fished on this lake often. Grandpa loved to fish and since this was so close to the OLD homestead, this was where we would head off too. He was not to keen on boats, but loved to shore fish. To help rekindle OLD memories, we put this cache here for all to enjoy. I know that Grandpa would love this OLD box and all its contents.
