The Monroe Ridge trail is a nice 3 mile loop trail that takes you up above the James Marshall Memorial.
There are great views of the Coloma valley and South Fork of the American river area.
In the spring the area is bursting with wildflowers.
The cache is located near a picnic table. So bring a lunch or a snack. Binoculars would also be a good idea.
The cache is a Ammo can and contains a log book, pen, and various exchange items. It can be see from behind with moving anything. Please retrieve the cache from the back without moving the camouflage in front. The cache is on the uphill side of the trail on the south facing slope.
A free map of the trails in the park is available at the desk in the Park Museum .
This cache is hiker friendly but dogs are not allowed.
There is also a parking fee but if you are too cheap to help fund our state parks.
You can park in a turn out along side the road just North of the park on Hwy 49.

We are all guilty of the old cut and paste but how about something more than "Good cache TNLNSL TFTC" on 10+ caches in one day? We cache owners like to hear about your experiences. It gives us a feeling of being there when we can't be, how the cache is doing, and it lets us get to know you in a virtual kind of way. That doesn't mean it has to be long just not boring.
Remember the cache owners and anyone with a watch on the cache will read your log, how about making it interesting.
