This cache is based at a historically interesting location. Hopefully you’ll have fun with this cache and learn something too.
At the given coordinates, identify the friends and the hero. To determine the location of the final cache, calculate its coordinates, as follows:
N coordinate: Assign the letters a, b, c, and d to the respective numbers of the 2nd date applicable to the friends and calculate an offset using the following formula:
N offset = -0.(d-a-b)(a+c)(b-c)
For example if the date was 1426; a=1, b=4, c=2, and d=6.
N offset = -0.(6-1-4)(1+2)(4-2) = -0.132
Subtracting 0.132 from the original N coordinate given above to determine the N coordinate of the cache.
W coordinate: Assign the letters e, f, g, and h to the numbers of the date that the hero’s statue was made and calculate an offset using the following formula:
W offset = -0.(f-h)(h-e-g)(e+h)
Apply this offset to the original W coordinate to determine the W coordinate of the cache.
