Geocache Description:

Short distance from road and flat terrain. Satellite reception will be spotty due to many trees.

This cache is located in a large area of county forest. We hid this cache in a large pile of rocks that was placed there in the early 1800's by farmers who would plow them up while tending their fields. The rocks were removed from the fields in part to keep them from damaging the farm equipment. The cache is an ammo box now since the original tupperware container was leaking.
As of 10-31-03 you now have the option of looking for this cache at night! You will of course need a flashlight to do so, but this will also allow you to find it without really using your GPSr if you wish. Starting across the road from the house numbered 91 you will see a series of glint marks on the trees leading into the forest. In order to see these marks, you will have to hold your flashlight at eye level and sweep the beam through the trees. The glints range in height from the ground between 5 and 10ft. You may see more than one at a time which makes them easier to follow. When you reach a tree with two glints, it marks a turn. The more powerful your flashlight, the better the glints will show up. You will probably not be able to follow the glint trail back out to the road, so you should know how to use the "breadcrumb" feature of your GPSr or set a waypoint to return to at the road before you enter the forest.
