The theme of the cache is state names. If you trade, try to bring
something that has the name of a state or another country on it.
I’ve really enjoyed geocaching when I travel. It’s a great way
to see the sights in other areas, including cities. It’s also a way
to find out about interesting places that I wouldn’t have known
about otherwise. I started the cache with something from states in
which I’ve been geocaching. Pins, magnets or keychains from Alaska,
California, Idaho, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, South
Carolina and Texas are in the cache. Other states and 2 countries
have been added.
Spring gobbler hunting season starts 4/29/06 and continues
through the last weekend in May. During this season hunters can
hunt from ½ hour before sunrise until Noon. Please check the
hunting seasons before you go into the game lands. When you are in
game lands during Spring gobbler season you must wear a minimum of
100 total square inches of fluorescent orange on your head and/or a
safety band on chest and back which can be seen 360 degrees except
on Sundays. From Nov 15 to Dec 15, the minimum is 250 total square
inches on your head and chest and back. ALTHOUGH FEW PEOPLE TRY
THIS CHALLENGING GEOCACHE, DUE TO CONCERNS ABOUT SPRING HUNTING
SINCE HUNTERS WEAR CAMO, THIS CACHE WILL BE DISABLED DURING
MAY.
Mountain bikes are not allowed on these trails. You are looking
for 35 mm film canisters for the first stages of this cache. Please
replace all cache containers hidden as you found them. Parking in
the lots may be hard during the winter months. Thanks to Lodestone
for loaning me his GPS to get the coordinates. Thanks also to
RichinNEPA who suggested a hiding place for the 2nd stage after I
found the place I'd put it had been...err...destroyed! And thanks
to Magnificent 7 for retrieving the original cache after an animal
had destroyed it! The cache is now a small ammo box. Enjoy the
hike!
