Geocache Description:

This is our first try at hiding a geocache, so I hope we did ok. The geocache is located at Canoe Creek State Park where we go fishing a lot, and is hidden somewhere near the Sugarloaf Trail.

The cache should be easy to find, but depending on where you start, could also be hard to get to, as you could approach it from more than one way. We parked at a lot located at N40°28.869 / W078°17.237. Depending on the weather, this may not be the best way. There is a water related obstacle involved. The cache container is a fairly large pretzel container, painted gray. The contents started out with the log book, and a lot VW related items, mostly Beetle Matchbox and Hotwheels cars, along with other things NOT VW related. It also started with 4 Travel "Bugs", our "Beetles Across America". If you take a travel bug, please take only one so they can go their separate ways. We have a 1975 VW Super Beetle Convertible, I like Bugs, hence the theme-like beginnings to our cache. If possible trade VW stuff, but it is not a manditory thing. The only thing mandatory is to make sure you sign the log book and HAVE FUN! Don't forget "Cache In, Trash Out"! Be sure to visit the park office for a map and check out what else the park has to offer. There is another cache at the park, the limestone kilns, hiking, biking and horseback riding trails, fishing, skiing, ice skating, swimming and more! This cache has been approved by the Park Ranger. (Thanks Russ!) ADDED NOTE: This cache container had gone missing once. Please replace it EXACTLY where you find it. This area of the park has poison ivy and jagger bushes, so be careful and wear long sleeves and all those types of precautions.
