Geocache Description:

Located in the Pisgah National Forest at Bent Creek Experimental Forest. From the parking lot follow the paved path to the second trail on the right.

This cache is located close to Rice Pinnacle parking lot N35 29.791 W082 36.925 . It’s a short hike but with the heavy tree cover it may be difficult to locate. The photos and hint should help. I wished I knew more about the history of this camp. At one time there must have been a nice lake here, but all that remains today is this old dam. Not far from the cache is what’s left of the lodge; the Forest Service demolished it last year. There are lots of wildflowers along the way and last summer there was a rather mean Black Bear in this area that could add a unique challenge to this cache if you happen upon him.
The cache container is a 1 Qt. Clear Nalgene jar with a white lid. I loaded it up with lots of goodies.
