The third in a series of caches located near some of the many historic missions in northwest United States.
Intended as a way to bring this wonderful location to the attention of more travellers, the real find is the mission itself. Take the time to enjoy the history, architecture, and art.
Note: This cache is near the edge of the grounds of the state park, but no entrance fee is necessary to visit the container's location. (Though, of course, the mission is well worth a visit.) There is no need to disturb any of the historic buildings or artifacts while searching for the container.
The cache container has been replaced with a decon container. This location should be reasonably safe to hunt in, out of sight of the nearby popular fishing access, but still take care. The container's gone missing a couple of times. Please cover the container well after you replace it to keep it from going away.
One final note - There are posted warnings that the local soil is contaminated with heavy metals. The cache location should be reasonably safe from direct contact with the soil, but based on the information provided by the site management plan to help pets, small children, or adults who cannot keep their fingers out of their mouths to clean up when you get back to your vehicle, just to be on the safe side.
