A short, um, nature lesson. This is my first cache, so I thought I'd make it a virtual - easy for me, since I do no maintenance and YOU do all the legwork!
This location is near Mugu Lagoon and the beach, where you can see many varieties of seagulls, hawks, finches, and other species. The birds over in the lagoon are relatively small, but the species that live here are quite large. Fortunately, these birds are well-behaved and stay on their perches. The coordinates point to a parking lot near the birds. To claim this cache, you will have to answer some questions about the species that live here. Some of the birds have lost their little information signs, so you may have to estimate some of your answers.
1) How high can this Jayhawk fly?
2) How fast is this Oriole?
3) What is this Petrel's wingspan?
Email me the answers. For a bonus prize, tell me what Captain Laughter's first name was. Oh, wait, there IS no bonus prize. Or any other prize, for that matter. Cache is bike-friendly, skate-friendly, and wheelchair-friendly.

May 2026 update - This geocache is being deactivated as parking is no longer allowed at this location. Over the years, I've made an awful lot of trips here to pick up litter and sweep up gravel that has escaped from the birds' perches, but I can't sweep away K-rails. Thank you to everyone who visited the birds, and a special thank you to those of you who, while laughing, chirped at the birds. You know who you are.
