Geocache Description:

I get the most enjoyment from this game when I’m shown some wonderful scenery or when I’ve learned something. Hopefully this cache will accomplish both for any cacher willing to be so enriched.

The real prize is not waiting for you at the final destination. It is the beautiful scenery in the area that your search begins. The prize continues when you have performed simple on-line research and become acquainted with the subject of this cache. Let's begin.

First go to the coordinates listed above and find the monument shown in photographs #1 and #2. You are directed to the person this cache is dedicated to by the yellow arrow. This person’s stone is shown in photograph #3. The subject's initials are M.N.R. I have removed the important details from the photographs. Gather all of the information you can from each family member’s stone. You are now at Point A.

Next find Point B. Point B will be found at N42 26.XXX and 071 13.YYY. XXX equals the sum of the ages of the (6) family members less 16. YYY equals the sum of the subject’s (2) siblings plus 4. ( assume they all died past their birthdays ). Point B is located in a residential neighborhood more than 5 miles away( Thanks NTP ). It is not neccessary to visit. There is no need to disturb anyone in the neighborhood.

Next research M.N.R. on-line and find the answers to the following four questions …

1. What is M.N.R’s full name ?

2. Complete this sentence ... An article in the Sharon-Herald newspaper quotes amateur historian, Frank Rendes, referring to the subject as “ The Real _ _ _ _. “ Note: Use a search engine other than Google to research this question.

3. What is the birthplace of the parents ?

4. What is the significance of Point B ?

Your final destination is located close to the line drawn between Points A + B. This line passes through a wooded recreational park. A trail within the park intersects with the line. A tree is located at this intersection point with /an appropriate symbol located about 10 feet above the ground facing the path. (7/3/14 update: the symbol--a white star is showing signs of age. It is broken and not as white as it once was. However you will be able to identify it as once being a star. Also, the top of the large tree that the symbol is nailed to has broken off in recent years. So look for a broken star on a broken tree and/or see the updated clue below.) Continue along the trail heading southwest. The cache is located about the same number of steps / paces ( long ) as the age of M.N.R’s spouse ( plus 4 ). If you added 1.6951 to the spouse’s age and use the total as a percentage of the distance between Points A + B, you should be standing at the tree when measured from the beginning of this multi-cache.

****To claim the find you must find the cache and e-mail me with the answers to the four questions above along with the code word inside the cover of the logbook.****

I hope this cache gives you as much fun as I had in setting it up Good luck, and happy trails to you.
