Geocache Description:

A lovely walk through a gorge with a unique construction of two bridges - one built on top the other. Note that the "Two Bridges" still exist and are at a distance form the cache itself: the bridge which has been washed away wasn't one of them. The "Two Bridges" are best viewed from the north side of the gorge and both are made of stone.

Park at the side of the road on the south side of the bridge (NT 01633 99525). Please do not park at the gatehouse on the north side of the bridge. The cache can only be approached from the RHS of the river as you walk upstream. The top bridge at NT 01813 99845 got washed away during winter 2010/11 and so far hasn't been replaced which is a pity because this used to be a circular walk. This is a lovely place at any time of year - we always take visitors to see it and they are always impressed - but it is best seen after a wet period when the river is high. The place is very aptly named. The original cache has been trashed so I moved its location and converted it to a mico-cache. This subsequently disappeared but was very kindly replaced as a mini-cache by CrazyCat so it now has a few small items in it. I will put a logbook in it sometime soon.
